Mightier with Mindset

Regulation is not a soft skill. It is the condition for learning.

Mightier with Mindset is a structured emotional-regulation programme for children and families. Building the skills that make everything else at school and at home possible.

Why this programme exists

You cannot teach a brain that is not available

A great deal of what looks like non-compliance, laziness or defiance is a nervous system that has left the room. Until regulation is addressed, no strategy for reading, homework or behaviour will hold, and the child will keep being blamed for a state they cannot yet manage.

  • Regulation is a condition for thinking, not a reward for it
  • It is a skill that can be taught, practised and measured, at any age
  • The adults around the child are part of the intervention, not observers of it
  • Progress is defined before the programme starts, so it can be evidenced rather than assumed
  • Small groups matter: children learn regulation in the presence of other people, not in a workbook
The programme

What the programme involves

  • Small-group sessions across a structured 12-week sequence
  • Practical regulation skills for children and the adults supporting them
  • Measurement before and after - so progress is evidence, not impression
  • Reports you can share with school where that is useful
  • Guidance for parents and caregivers alongside the child's work
Who it suits

Children whose regulation is getting in the way of learning, friendships or family life, whether or not they have a diagnosis.

Families who want something structured to do, rather than another explanation of the problem.

How it is built

Three things happening at once

A regulation programme that changes only the child rarely holds. What the child learns has to survive contact with a Tuesday evening at home and a Thursday morning in class.

Progress you can point at

Parents are routinely asked to judge progress by feel, which is unreliable and unfair to everyone. Here, the goals are set at the start and revisited at the end, so the answer is not a matter of memory or optimism.
